Most of the people who buy a new dishwasher prefer to pay a specialist to install it. After the old dishwasher is removed, you will have to verify if the old plumbing will fit the new dishwasher. Compare the location and type of connections on the dishwashers to verify that the existing wires and drain and water lines are long enough and correctly positioned for the new unit. These requirements should be spelled out in the installation manual. Typically, the only problem might be with the water line if you are changing brands. Also, remember to turn on the water for a few moments to flush any particles out of newly soldered new drain lines. Before you make the connection it is recommended to use some Teflon tape on the threaded pipes ends.
After the dishwasher is installed you must adjust its feet to align with the countertop and cabinets perfectly. After that, you must check for water leaks. Restore the water pressure and then check for leaks or for humid spots. If this is done, and no problems occur, it is time to install the dishwasher's front panel. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to adjust the door so there is an even space on both sides. You might, for example, need to move the door spring to a new mounting hole.
